Hidden Video Cameras, otherwise known as “hidden spy
cameras” have been around almost as long as the invention of cameras
themselves. When cameras were first
introduced, they were very large and bulky in size which made them difficult to
use for covert surveillance purposes. In
order to use these bulkier early designs they would have to be hidden quite
well or disguised so as to not be completely obvious that they were present.
As technology progressed in the camera field, cameras began
to become smaller as the operating mechanics became more efficient and
smaller. As cameras decreased in size,
hidden cameras slowly gained popularity, but they were still quite expensive in
these earlier times. Typically only the
government or large corporations with deep pockets could afford to use these
more expensive hidden video camera systems.
When the electronics industry began to take off with the
boom of computers, just about everything utilizing PC boards and electronic
components advanced as well. It was
around this time when cameras really started forming into what they are
today. They quickly became very compact
and displayed better picture quality than ever before and became popular in a
very short amount of time. This in turn
made cameras more affordable and put them within reach of everyday consumers,
which turned out to be a huge market.
Once everyday consumers began purchasing cameras, the costs
reduced dramatically and thus hidden video cameras also became very affordable
and practical given their smaller size.
Today these hidden spy cameras come in all shapes and sizes and can be
put just about anywhere without being detected.
Anybody can go out and purchase a small hidden camera for relatively
cheap in this day and age, and many people and business do so in order to
protect their assets.
The evolution of the hidden camera has since helped many
people and businesses to keep an eye on their assets while they are not
around. This in turn has lead to minimal
theft, many convicted criminals, and keeps employees and other people
honest. As hidden cameras continue to
develop and become even smaller, their range of uses continues to grow and
there is no telling what the future has in store for hidden spy cameras.
